Mini explorers (including Tom Crean and Ernest Shackleton)are joined by Baby Husky Zara for a journey to Antarctica, which arrives in Dun Laoghaire this Saturday(Dec 1st). Dun Laoghaire’s Antarctic Kingdom – is themed to celebrate the arrival of New York’s Shackleton Exhibition to Dun Laoghaire. The spectacular ice-themed festival includes an amazing 60-metre ice slide, Santa’s Arctic Kingdom in Dun Laoghaire Shopping Centre, live ice sculpture carvings, a live crib, 40 Christmas market chalets and 4 fireworks displays. The spectacular Ice Kingdom celebrates Ernest Shackleton, one of Ireland’s greatest-ever explorers, who attempted the first sea-to-sea land crossing of Antarctica by foot via the South Pole, in August 1914.
